As I’ve said a million times, a photo shoot is the most effective raindance in the world.
Fortunately, most of the storm was to the south of us, but we got sprinkled on for most of the session. Despite the rain, we still had a blast capturing Johnny and Catherine’s engagement photos in this beautiful canyon near Horse Springs NM.
Johnny claims that the first thing he noticed was Catherine’s horse. And so he gallantly rode up to ask if she was interested in selling and if she was even old enough to be roping at a world series. Catherine wasn’t real impressed, especially when he followed it up to nonchalantly ask for her snap. Unfortunately for Johnny, he was new to the whole world of Snapchat and “didn’t know the rules.” When she didn’t accept his request and left him on “pending,” he thought he’d done it wrong and followed it up with a Facebook message.
During the shoot, I asked them separately when they realized that they had found the one. They both smiled and said, “When we started talking on the phone.” And by talking, they meant talking for hours on end, night after night.
