Kolby and Miley’s Alturas CA Western Wedding was the party of the year. Guests arrived at the ranch from all over with horse trailers, bedrolls, campers, and helicopters, ready to celebrate the couple as they exchanged vows against a breathtaking backdrop.

The guests cheered as Kolby swept his bride up into his arms every chance he had, laughed as sweet Miley SMASHED the cake into Kolby’s face, made way for Chopper the ranch mascot as he made his rounds…and then they partied HARD until past 2am in the morning. Hank, who partied the hardest of them all, ultimately emerged victorious in the garter toss (see picture proof.)

Nelson and I had decided to combine our work trip to Northern California for this wedding into a summer road trip for the kids. So we hooked up our faithful old popup camper and adventured from NM to OR. We did all the touristy things and saw so many amazing places. On the way home, I asked everyone their favorite parts of the trip. Paisley loved the Redwoods; Wyatt rattled off a list of ALL the things he enjoyed…

And Nelson just smiled and said, “The Bravos wedding.”

It is such a privilege to get to work with the kind of couples and their people who, at the end of a wonderful vacation, make our “work” feel like the highlight of our time.

Beyond it being the best of times with the best of people, it was EXTRA special to collaborate once again with the talented filmmaker Ellen @morningstarfilms and one of my 2018 brides @elsie_m_green, who has become an extraordinary wedding coordinator. (Assisted by her best husband, Cole, who bonded with Nelson over the whole thing of being unsuspecting cowboys commandeered by their wives for free labor.)

Nelson and I wish the newlyweds a life of as much love, fun, and fireworks as they had on their wedding day!
