While Josh & Audrey had grown up many years living within miles of each others Virgina farms, they didn’t cross paths until one day a t-post driver came sliding off the bed of his truck on a windy country road, nearly missing her truck. He stopped to check and see if she was alright…and they parted ways.
Almost a year later Audrey’s brother and Josh traded work (you know, a little welding for a little manure spreading kinda stuff). And when Josh brought over his spreader, he would take a beer break in the barn where Audrey was doing chores and a friendship was born.
Audrey inherited her love for all things equine from her parents, who raised and trained mules for many years. She lives and breathes horses and mules and makes a living as a trainer. Josh is a cattleman who loves his cows and well-bred bulls. Being fascinated by cattle and not knowing anything about them, Audrey started tagging along with Josh to go check pastures.
I love that this engagement session took place in “The Cove” where Josh took first Audrey to check cattle and where he later proposed. The sun, the mountains, that old barn! I loved it!
They are now planning a intimate wedding on the farm mountaintop and I can’t wait to return to Virginia to photograph it!
