They were both raised in New Mexico and met when attending collage at NMSU in Las Cruces. She was a studious 4.0 student in the front row of the classroom and he was, as she calls him, the “gentle giant” who she had a crush on. I laughed when she said he was oblivious to her attempts to make eyes at him.

They came all the way down from where they now live in Minnesota for an their engagement session. Our session location was just outside of Santa Fe New Mexico and not far from the “high desert” where Bodie was raised.
And, fun fact, while this was the first time I really met Bodie and Rachel, it wasn’t their first time in front of my camera. Way back in 2013 I was the photographer at a wedding and captured a shot of them dancing at the reception. That photo is STILL Bodie’s profile photo and I vote it’s time for an update!

Bodie is a Farrier/Blacksmith and I love that these two brought the neatest anvil and stand as a prop to the session! Made a great place for our ring shots!

Thought the engagement session and afterward when we grabbed a pizza, I enjoyed visiting with Bodie and Rachel and getting to know them. Their 2019 wedding will be here before we know it and I can’t wait!
