I love to meet new people and make friends…especially when they are fellow photographers! Living so rural I don’t get a chance to get out and about often. So when Alicia Lucia Photography posted that she was hosting a stylized shootout for photographers I jumped at the chance. I had no excuses not to as I already was going to be in the area that day and had a babysitter!
Alicia’s creative mind will wow you. Look her up and soak in her talent! Her jaw-dropping work has understandably drawn a lot of attention in the industry, won well deserved awards and been published with the big leagues. This girl is going places. And even with all that she has a humble, sharing and selfless heart. Her willingness to host this shootout and share her incredible concepts and creative team is something that many photographers would never think of doing.

Everything I’ve done as a photographer I’ve done alone. Self taught, DIY kinda girl. But lately I’ve been lonesome for some good old networking. I didn’t know what to expect from a “shootout” because, lets face it, there are some real grumps as photographers. But the fellow photographers at the shootout were all talented, full of laughter and all willing to bend over backwards to lend a hand to the photographer next to them! The studio was just bursting with excited chatter and creative energy. When I walked back out into reality I left refreshed, inspired and a happy heart.

Alicia will be hosting another shootout this October. If you are feeling “ehh” “bleh” or just tired of the same-old-same-old, then you can’t afford not to invest in some quality time of shooting JUST for grins, giggles and inspiration!
