After you see the wedding dress-shot with Sophie the Holstein heifer…you’ll have to agree with me Zeb & Joren have a thing for “show-stealing” holsteins. And while this isn’t remotely a “Dairy Wedding”, if you read their story on their engagement session blog, you’ll understand why it was perfectly fitting that Piper, the matriarch milk cow, attended this Montana Ranch Wedding ceremony. And I’m not even kidding you, she bawled (mooed) at all the right parts.

We really do love the places we get to see when we travel to photograph ranch weddings all over the country. But even more, we really really love the people we get to know along the way. And this bunch up in the Montana Hi-Line is no exception.

Leading up the wedding day everyone said the smoke and weather had been nasty. And even though the wind had blown all night long the night before (we would know, it rocked our Rolling Teepee pretty seriously), the sun was out and the wind calm as Joren was walked down the aisle by Zeb’s son Pate.

It was obvious though we aren’t the only folks that enjoy everyone on the Rocker S Ranch, people came from near and far to celebrate with Zeb and Joren during this special time in their life. There was much laughter (thank you Doug and calf pulling the garter…sorry, you had to be there) and many tears of love and joy shared.

Zeb also did something really powerful that got even me, the professional keep-it-together-person, choked up at the reception. He called up to the “Saloon” all the “Good ol’ boys” in his life who had made him into the man he is today. He shared the stories about each and talked about things he’d learned from them. And yes I got choked up because you and I both know, in every little ranching community all over the country, are a line of “good ol’ boys” we all owe so much too. May we all be like Zeb and take a moment to raise our glasses to them.
