On the beautiful California ranch that has been in his family for generations, Clayton watched Natalie ride up horseback to become his wife.

Last year I had the joy of shooting some of Clayton & Natalie’s engagement photos in the barn. And when they’d described to me their vision for their wedding reception I could not wait to return! They did a perfect job of preserving the old, rustic feel while blending in class and elegance. The result was what ranch wedding dreams are made of!

The day was filled with personalized and meaningful details, and I loved that the shawls worn by the bridesmaids had been beautifully hand-knitted by the mother of the bride. And I think it was the perfect touch!

But my personal favorite was where the invitations asked the guests to bring their own branding irons. During the reception, everyone branded a beautiful custom bar that will go in Clayton and Natalie’s home. Let’s make this the new rage for ranch weddings. Mmmkay?

But even more meaningful and beautiful than all the pretty details and the stunning location was the way the newlyweds laughed with each other…being themselves and absolutely enjoying the best day of their lives.

And I loved being there to be the storyteller…
