The day before their wedding Curtis & Lauren were branding calves and I was honored to come a day early and shoot the works for them!

It’s been an amazing year getting to meet and work with ranch couples and families from one one end of the country to the other. Regardless of the shape of their hat, I love seeing the enormous smiles on the faces of folks doing what they love and taking care of the livestock they’ve raised.

This California ranch branding contained a lot of those big smiles. Yah, it included some of the usual muttering and cussing that comes with an “off day” roping in the branding pen (which the photographers are ALWAYS blamed for. LOL) But in the span of a morning, there wasn’t a single person who didn’t have that big smile on their face at one point or another.
