This woman is a ray of sunshine in my life! Endless hours of laughter, sharing and smiles. And she is technically my biggest “business competition” in this area. Shocked? Yes, most folks are. Anyone of you who is or has been in the photography industry can sadly nod your heads in agreement when I say that the animosity and just downright ugliness that comes with being in the photography world can get very very discouraging. Some of the things I’ve seen fellow photographers who shoot New Mexico Portrait Photography say to each other online or the way that they publicly bash each others’ businesses can leave you sick to your stomach. And it’s a universal issue.
But not so with the beautiful Bernadette Ulibarri Photography based in Socorro, New Mexico. Well over 2 years ago we corresponded about referring clients to each other and eventually met for dinner where we spent the entire time laughing, comparing photog stories, talking about our dreams for our businesses and the challenges in reaching for those dreams. Since then she has been a wonderful friend to bounce ideas off of and know I can get an honest opinion from her as fellow photographer. We’ve enjoyed shopping, concerts, playing at the park and many lunch dates. She even stuck by me when I had a freak disaster and lost all the images from her own family session last fall!

I was so excited and very intimidated when we began to plan a portrait session for her to use on her soon-to-be-amazingly-updated-and-awesome website! But we had a great time, beautiful light and a great location!
